professional transfer labs?

by "Frank Pajerski" <fpajerski.is.at.sbcglobal@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 6, 2007 at 07:04 PM

I have the usual assortment of hours of silent Kodachrome Super8 film
from 30+ years ago. All the film was processed by Kodak. Some film is
still on their original small (50' ?) reels and some film I had spliced
onto much larger reels. These reels have been sitting untouched in a
dark cool location since then.

Much of the film content is very im****tant to me, and I am willing to
pay for their quality transfer to mini-DV tapes.

Could I please have recommendations of transfer labs that I should
consider for this? And, of course, if there are any guidelines (or
sites) that I should be aware of for this project, please advise.

Thanks for any response to this blanket appeal for info to help get me
up to speed on my transfer project. I have Googled-out some old
postings on all this, but would like a current view of things.
